Paul Nash’s Genesis (1924) is a striking series of twelve woodcuts paired with biblical creation texts, published by the avant-garde Nonesuch Press. Influenced by war trauma and personal loss, Nash’s angular forms and swirling chaos reflect a violent, cosmic birth. The work blends spiritual vision with psychological depth, evoking beauty forged from rupture and emotional turbulence.
